With the Northern Metropolis Development Strategy devised by the HKSAR Government in the 2021 Policy Address, the Sha Tau Kok Frontier Closed Area located in the northern New Territories will be gradually opened in June 2022. The Security Bureau and relevant departments have formulated a six-month pilot plan that, during the three months of the first phase, allows designated group tours to go sight-seeing there and take a ferry at the Pier to visit neighbouring places including Lai Chi Wo and Kat O on designated dates. Its aim is to let the members of the public have a deep understanding of its history and culture, natural scenery and tourist attractions. As an important part of the development vision of the Northern Metropolis, the opening up of tourism of Sha Tau Kok is of special significance and will usher in new development opportunities.
This is the dedicated page to provide information on local tours in the Sha Tau Kok Frontier Closed Area for interested members of the public to explore the details. They may contact the licensed travel agents for enrollment directly.
