In order to implement the Tourist Guide Accreditation System, which is to take effect on 1 July 2004, the TIC is to organise a written examination (“Knowledge on Hong Kong”) and a practical examination from April 2004 for holders of Categories II and III recognised certificates. Those who have passed all the examinations and fulfil the requirements are eligible to apply for the Tourist Guide Pass.
