Cruise Holiday Expo successfully concluded

2013-09-26
The Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong (TIC) today (26 September) announced the successful conclusion of the first-ever Cruise Holiday Expo in Hong Kong held at the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal during 20-22 September.

The Expo, organized by the TIC and co-organized by the Tourism Commission and the Hong Kong Tourism Board, attracted about 30,000 visitors in three days, with some 6,000 trade visitors showing up on the Trade Day, and about 24,000 people present on the next two Public Days.

There were 48 exhibitors, of which 17 were international cruise brands and 31 were local travel agents. A total of 28 free seminars on cruise travel were held, which were hugely popular and drew close to 4,000 attendees.

The grand lucky draw for Expo visitors was also very popular, and the winning tickets were drawn by the Organizer on 25 September. The results will be published on 30 September in the Sing Tao Daily and The Standard, and posted on the Expo website at: http://www.cruiseholidayexpohk.com/EN/overview.html.

The TIC considers the Expo a big success because it not only provided a platform for traders to promote cruise products, but also greatly aroused the interests of the public in this new way of travel. The TIC hopes to continue to cooperate with all stakeholders in order to tap the potential of Hong Kong’s cruise market.
