The Financial Secretary has proposed in the 2016-17 Budget that funding be allocated for launching various measures to support tourism, one of which is to subsidise, through the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong (TIC), small- and medium-sized travel agents, on a matching basis, to make use of information technology (IT) so as to enhance the competitiveness of the industry.

The TIC fully supports the Government’s proposal and will later work out the details of the implementation of the scheme with the Government and announce the details in due course.
