To further promote tourism development, the Government has announced in the 2023 Policy Address that the Cultural and Heritage Sites Local Tour Incentive Scheme will be transformed into the Characteristic Local Tourism Incentive Scheme (CTIS), with a view to encouraging the travel trade to develop more thematic in-depth itineraries and tourism products, so as to enable visitors to explore Hong Kong in depth and experience the distinctive characteristics of the local community.

The CTIS will be launched on 1 January 2024, with the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong (TIC) continuing to be the implementation agent of the scheme. To help members to understand the details of the Scheme and its application procedures, TIC will organise the 2nd online briefing session during the following time slot:
