Organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Architectural Conservationists, the field trip themed “The Oldies but Goodies in Sheung Wan” will be held between 11:00am and 1:00pm on 4 May 2024 (Saturday) in Sheung Wan.

The event will lead the participants into Sheung Wan’s Dried Seafood Street and together explore the stories of these old shops. It will delve into traditional printing and salted fish shops, listening to the owners personally share their industry stories, understanding their significant role in Hong Kong’s development as a commercial hub, and witnessing their interaction with the cultural and tourism industries. Moreover, the event will also introduce new projects within the community, discussing how urban redevelopment and the pandemic have impacted the development of these traditional business and the community. At the end there is a reflective session to discuss the topic.
