Developing island tourism and green tourism would be one of the working directions of Hong Kong’s tourism industry. If you like ecology, geology and culture, and are interested in education and tourism promotion of Hong Kong Geopark, you are welcome to apply to become a Recommended Geopark Guide (R2G).

R2G is an accreditation system jointly established by Hong Kong Geopark and the Association for Geoconservation, Hong Kong, and supported by the Hong Kong Tourism Industry Council. It aims to provide a team of outstanding guides for visitors to Hong Kong Geopark to enjoy safe and high-quality guided tour services. They must have a thorough understanding of the UNESCO Global Geoparks concept, be familiar with the planning and management principles of Hong Kong Geopark, have in-depth knowledge of the geology, ecology and cultural history of Hong Kong Geopark, and have good guiding and interpretation skills to effectively convey knowledge of earth sciences to visitors.

The 9th R2G will accept applications from September to December 2025. Interested applicants are encouraged to visit the R2G website for the latest information and details.

Interviews are expected to take place in early 2026. Applicants who are invited to attend an interview will be notified approximately 4 to 8 weeks after the application deadline.
