On the mournful day for Hong Kong’s travel industry of 23 August 2010, a Hong Thai Travel Services’ tour group was taken hostage in Manila, which ended tragically with many tour members injured and several killed, including the tour escort Mr Tse Ting Chunn, Masa.

Everyone in the TIC and the industry is deeply saddened by the death of Mr Tse, who dutifully performed his duties as a tour escort until the last minute of his life, and should like to offer our condolences to his family members. As a token of the industry’s care and concern for his family members, the TIC would like to appeal to tour escorts and tourist guides to make donations in the following two ways:

1. Make an ATM transfer or put the donation into the TIC’s dedicated account with Bank of China (Hong Kong) (Name of account holder: Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong, and account no.: 012-349-1-007302-8); or
2. Send a crossed cheque payable to “Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong” to the TIC, with “Donation for family of Mr Tse Ting Chunn” written on the back of the cheque.

Members of the public may also make donations in the above two ways.

The donations collected will be given to the family members of Mr Tse Ting Chunn on 8 September 2010.
