The Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong today (23 March) terminated the membership of the following two travel agents:

• We Fly Travel Limited (Trade name: We Fly; Licence No: 354028), and 
•  Wee Travel Limited (Trade name: Wee Travel / You Fly / U Fly / Go Go Go Travel; Licence No: 353107)

Following the announcement by the above two travel agents yesterday that they would cease business with immediate effect, the TIC terminated their membership today, after which the Travel Agents Registry also revoked their licences today. It is understood that those who have bought air tickets have been issued with electronic tickets and several thousand air tickets in the process of refunds are estimated to have been affected.

The TIC wishes to advise those who have bought air tickets from the two agents to take action as listed below:

• For those who have bought air tickets: check the status of their tickets with the airlines; directly contact the airlines if they need to change their flights; check with the airlines and the credit card-issuing banks about the chargeback protection mechanism if they want to cancel the tickets.
• For those who have applied for air ticket refunds through the two agents due to the pandemic or other reasons but have not yet received the refunds: check with the credit card-issuing banks about the chargeback protection mechanism.
• For those who have taken out travel insurance, whether they are covered depends on their insurance policies.
