Employees Retraining Board launched the “Love Upgrading Special Scheme” Phase 2
The Employees Retraining Board launched the “Love Upgrading Special Scheme” Phase 2 (Scheme) in July 2020 in order to support the unemployed or underemployed to upgrade their skills for self-enhancement and employment.
Course Information
The courses under the Scheme covers 26 industry categories and more training courses. For examples:
Courses related to the travel industry
Special allowance: |
The maximum amount of special allowance for each eligible trainee has been increased to HK$5,800 per month |
Course fees: | All courses are free of charge |
Application date: | On or before 31 December 2020 |
Enrolment date: | On or before 31 March 2021 |
Certification: |
Trainees will be awarded graduation certificates upon completion of training and fulfilment of graduation requirements |
Enterprise-based Training
The service of “Enterprise-based Training” (Chinese version only) is a new arrangement in Phase 2. It aims to support corporations or trade associations in providing part-time training courses for their employees or staff of corporate members who are underemployed or taking no pay leave due to the economic downturn. It is a free service for both employers and employees. Employees who have completed the courses with attainment of attendance rate of 80% will be disbursed with a special allowance.
