The TIC welcomes the tourism-related policies and measures announced in the Chief Executive’s Policy Address
The TIC welcomes the policies and measures proposed by the Chief Executive in her new Policy Address to support the tourism trade, including the setting up of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau to co-ordinate the related work, as this is in line with the National 14th Five-Year Plan introduced by the Central Government to support Hong Kong in developing into an East-meets-West Centre for international cultural exchange.
In order to consolidate the position of Hong Kong as a core demonstration zone for multi-destination tourism and an international tourism hub, the Government will implement various measures to support tourism sector, including deepening co-operation with the GBA cities, establishing the GBA tourism brand, and attracting more events and C&E activities to Hong Kong through various funding and promotion programmes. The TIC will fully support the relevant policy goals, as well as continue making the best endeavours to maintain close cooperation with the Government and the trade, to reflect the needs and views of traders to the Government, and to proactively get prepared for tourism recovery.
