With the rapid development of green tourism industry worldwide, there is increasing demand for guides in the fields of ecology, geology and culture. If you are interested in education and tourism promotion in Hong Kong Geopark, you are welcome to apply to become a Recommended Geopark Guide (R2G).

The R2G programme is a system jointly established by Hong Kong Geopark, the Hong Kong Tourism Industry Council, and the Association for Geoconservation, Hong Kong. The programme provides assessment, certification, supervision, training and promotion. To become an R2G, you have to complete a series of courses recognized by the R2G Secretariat, meet the relevant requirements, and pass an assessment to obtain certification.

In simple terms, R2Gs are a group of outstanding guides who can provide safe, high-quality tour services. They must have a thorough understanding of the UNESCO Global Geoparks concept, be familiar with the planning and management principles of Hong Kong Geopark, have in-depth knowledge of the geology, ecology and cultural history of Hong Kong Geopark, and have good guiding and interpretation skills to effectively convey knowledge of earth sciences to visitors.
