In view of the fact that collection of surcharges or taxes on behalf of airlines or the government will increase the workload and financial risk of travel agents, the TIC has decided that with effect from 10 June 2004 member agents are allowed to charge a service fee of not more than HK$10 per ticket for collecting such surcharges or taxes on behalf of the airlines or the government.
