The Smoking (Public Health) (Amendment) Ordinance 2021 (The Ordinance) will come into operation on 30 April 2022 and it bans the import, promotion, manufacture, sale, and possession for commercial purposes of alternative smoking products (ASPs).

ASPs cover herbal cigarettes, electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) and heated tobacco products (HTPs), which include anything that is designed for use as a component of, and accessory to, an ASP, as well as any substance or tobacco that is packaged as being suitable for use with an ASP device.
