TIA reminds members to submit renewal applications four weeks before licences expire

2022-11-28

Under the Travel Industry Ordinance (Cap. 634), renewal applications for travel agent licences must be made to the Travel Industry Authority (TIA) not more than two months and not less than one month before the licences expire.

Since members may not be familiar with the current procedures for renewal applications and they must meet the authorized representative requirement and other requirements, members are strongly advised to carefully read the instructions of the application form, duly complete and sign the form and have all the required documents ready, or else the TIA may not be able to renew the licences of members before the expiry dates.

Members are reminded that the TIA generally takes four weeks, after receiving duly completed and signed application forms and the required documents, to complete the vetting and approval procedures for renewal applications. If the licences of members are not renewed before the expiry dates, members must cease to carry on travel agent business until their licences are renewed, or else they will commit an offence.

For enquiries, please contact the Licensing and Registration Section of the TIA by email ([email protected]) or call the TIA on (852) 3698 5900.
