Exemption concerning Tourist Guide Pass application

2003-10-16

After careful consideration, the TIC Board has decided that those who have completed the Tour Coordinator Training Course co-organised by Hong Kong Association of Registered Tour Coordinators and the Hong Kong Tourism Board (formerly known as Hong Kong Tourist Association) before 1997 and passed the relevant examinations will be exempted from taking the SUS Tourist Guide Training Course, but still have to take the written and the practical examinations to be held by the TIC and attend a seminar organised by the Independent Commission Against Corruption when applying for the Tourist Guide Pass. If they fail either the written or the practical examination, they will be allowed to take a resit once; and if they also fail the resit, they will have to take the SUS Tourist Guide Training Course and pass the relevant examinations. If they fail both the written and the practical examinations, they will have to take the SUS Tourist Guide Training Course and pass the relevant examinations in order to apply for the Pass.
